Congratulations to my cousin Christy and her husband Seth, who welcomed their baby girl, Natalie Paige into the world about 2 months ago.

I was so excited when I heard that they were having a little one, I just had to put my creative energy towards making something special to welcome Natalie into the world.

I started by sewing some adorable little sleeping owls on my vintage Singer. I fell in love with the little owls, but didn’t know what to do next. Then it hit me, when I was in one of my new favorite shops, Twisted. Christy- you would love this place!

I learned how to needle felt (which I taught myself through a kit to make a sea turtle) and made a few whimsical felted balls. Combining those with the owls and a needle felted letter N, a mobile just for Natalie came alive! I hope she enjoys slumbering under these watchful owls.
